Apps for your trainingSee. Hear. Respond. Find your timing.
Six tools for visual and auditory cues, rhythm, orientation and movement timing. Choose the app that fits your task.
These apps complement my work in neuroathletic training and applied neurofunction. Personal coaching can help you choose suitable tasks and adapt their difficulty and duration.
01 · Training & perception
Reaction Training
See, hear and respond according to your own rule.
Combine colours, numbers, letters and arrows with your own movement or thinking task. Eight modes, adjustable cue timing and optional speech support tasks ranging from simple colour cues to Stroop, Star & Box and Image & Sound. You choose the response rule; the app provides the cues.
What you can do
- Eight modes with selected colours, numbers, letters and arrows
- Stroop, 15 Star & Box layouts and twelve Image & Sound combinations
- Fixed or random cue timing; automatic changes or changes by tapping
- German or English speech, with adjustable time, cue count, sets and rest
The app counts cues and training time. It does not automatically score responses, assess movement success or measure reaction time.
02 · Training & perception
OKN
Moving patterns with adjustable visual tasks.
Set up moving stripes or dots with your chosen direction, speed, size and contrast. Add a fixation cross or a Stroop task. The cross and words can move independently of the background, while the preview and session timer help you configure the activity.
What you can do
- Stripes or dots in four directions, with adjustable pattern colours and contrast
- Show the pattern alone, a fixation cross or Stroop colour words
- Move the cross or words independently; adjust visibility and word duration
- Preview, session timer and linked pause for the pattern and additional task
The app provides visual stimuli. It does not automatically record eye movements or score Stroop responses. Follow the in-app guidance.
03 · Training & perception
Metronome
Hear, see and vary your training rhythm.
Give your training an audible or visual rhythm. Choose a steady tempo or changing tempo patterns, add colour cues and deliberately omit selected beats. An optional accent gives the first beat of each bar its own sound, for example accent–2–3–4.
What you can do
- 20–300 BPM, tap tempo and five tempo patterns within your chosen limits
- Four sounds and a separate accent at the start of every bar, with 1–12 beats per bar
- Regular or random beat omissions and optional colour cues
- Run continuously, for a set time or for a fixed number of beat positions
Omitted beats still count but remain silent, including accent positions. Bluetooth can delay sound relative to the visual cue.
04 · Training & perception
Tone Generator
Tones and noise on two independently adjustable channels.
Generate sine tones, white noise or pink noise and combine two independently adjustable channels. Choose frequency, volume and left, right or both outputs. Each channel can run continuously or in pulses, with its own tempo and pulse duration.
What you can do
- Two channels with independent signal type, relative volume and stereo routing
- Set a sine frequency from 20–20,000 Hz using a slider or direct entry
- Continuous output or pulses with independent tempo and duration
- Stop manually, after a set time or after a pulse count per pulsed channel
Start with low device volume. Separate sides require stereo playback. The percentage is not a calibrated dB value; the app is not an automated hearing test.
05 · “Vertikal” app
Visual Vertical
Set and compare your perceived vertical and horizontal.
Adjust a line until it looks vertical or horizontal to you. Visual Vertical records the phone's tilt and shows the angle and trace after the measurement. Analysis of the final two seconds reduces the influence of small jolts. Measurement series and CSV export help you compare repeated attempts.
What you can do
- Choose vertical or horizontal, the eye condition and 10, 20 or 30 seconds
- Device check against a true vertical reference and a bucket-test guide
- Inspect the sensor trace, smoothed trace and final two-second analysis window
- Compare repetitions; export measurement series and individual traces as CSV
Requires access to motion sensors, a careful device check and a cross-check. Measurements last only for the open session. Display resolution does not guarantee accuracy; the value does not establish a diagnosis.
06 · Movement timer
Zielzeit
Complete a movement before, during or exactly on a sound cue.
Zielzeit gives your movement task an audible time frame. Finish before the end cue, complete the movement within a tone or reach your target exactly on the signal. Fixed or random start delays, individual attempts and automatic series can be adjusted to suit the task.
What you can do
- Three rules: before the signal, during the tone or on the signal
- Fixed or random starts with a 0–30 second delay
- Single attempts or series of 2–50 trials with separate recovery time
- Set outward and return times separately; add your task label and test the sound
You or a training partner assess whether the movement finishes on time. The app counts signal sequences; it does not detect movements or false starts, or measure reaction time.
How to use the apps
Start in your browser or add a web app to your device.
Start in your browser
Open your chosen app. You do not need a user account to get started. Instructions and settings are available inside each app.
Add it to your device
Select “Install” or the arrow icon inside the app. Depending on your device and browser, an installation prompt or instructions will appear. There is no separate installer file.
Language & offline use
Every app has a DE/EN button. Select the app language there separately. After a complete online visit, offline use is available as long as your browser retains the app data.
The apps remember your language in the browser when storage is allowed; this is not synchronised across devices. Offline speech in Reaction Training also depends on the voices available on your device.
